Eversport Volleyball winter volleyball clinics are open to players of all levels in 5th to 8th grade. Eversport welcomes kids who have never played before, kids who are playing high level club volleyball, and kids of all levels in between. There are two different sessions each day. One session is geared towards beginners and intermediate players, while the other is geared towards advanced players and those looking to transition from intermediate to advanced.
There are 3 days of clinics on 12/12, 1/9, and 1/23, all held locally at the gym at Chaboya Middle School. The beginner/intermediate session runs from 3PM to 4:30PM, while the intermediate/advanced session runs from 4:30PM to 6PM. In order to keep a high coach to player ratio, each session is limited to around 32 players.
The cost to attend is $135. This includes all 3 clinic dates, an Eversport Volleyball t-shirt, and individual coaching from team coaches at Chaboya Middle School and Silver Creek High School.
The coaches will work with the players to help them improve their bumping, serving, hitting, setting, positioning, and teamwork. They will strive to teach the players correct technique so they have a lot of room to improve their game going forward. Get to know your future school coaches, make new friends, and become a better player in the great sport of volleyball!
Please note that these clinics are not associated with or sponsored by the Evergreen School District or Chaboya Middle School.
Feel free to reach out to us at eversport.sanjose@gmail.com with any questions you may have. Below are some Q&A.
Q: I’m not sure which level I should sign up for. Can you help me decide?
A: If you are not sure, we suggest signing up for the beginner/intermediate session. If we later decide that you may benefit more from the other session, we’ll offer you the option to move up. Similarly, if you sign up for the intermediate/advanced session, it is possible the coaches may move you down to the beginner/intermediate session if they believe that you will get more out of that session.
Q: Is it possible for the coaches to move me to another session once the clinics start?
A: Yes. The coaches strive to put players in the session which will benefit them the most.
Q: Can players be in the gym or on campus before their session starts or after their session is over?
A: No, players should be dropped off a few minutes before the clinic starts and be picked up within a few minutes of the clinic being done.
Q: Will participation in the clinic help a player make the school team?
A: Any improvements a player makes will give them a better chance of making their school’s team. However, simply attending a clinic coached by their school’s team coach gives them no advantage in making the school team.
Q: What should players bring to the clinics?
A: Each player should bring a bottle of water, wear appropriate active attire and footwear, and have a positive attitude. We’d highly recommend knee pads as well if you have them.
Q: Outside of the clinic, how can my child continue to improve their volleyball skills?
A: This is an important question. In order to see faster improvements, players should practice what they learned at home as much as they can, even if it’s just a few minutes a day. Just remind them to practice using the techniques they learned at the clinic. The more they do that, the more those techniques will become natural for them, and the faster they will improve. Doing things with an incorrect technique really limits how much better a player can become and makes it more difficult to correct later.
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: The coaches have decades of experience between them coaching school teams at Chaboya Middle School and Silver Creek High School. They genuinely want to see the players improve and do things the right way in the early parts of their volleyball journey, therefore enabling them to have lots of room for growth.
Q. Can we sign up for individual sessions at a prorated fee?
A. At this time, we are not offering that option. Please check back to see if that option gets offered at a later point.
